About

This is a website by Hope (Speranza to “fellow” Italians), formerly documenting the experience of Hope and Steve’s excellent adventure of moving to Florence, Italy. Now, more of a travel and New Mexico blog, with some philosophy thrown in for good measure. I hope you find it entertaining and perhaps just a little inspirational…

I’d love to be moving to Florence, so perhaps I’ll tag along, if you don’t mind, and live vicariously … :

Hello. I am an Italian (a Bolognese, in fact) living in Australia and stumbled upon your Dear Italy letter. What a great letter, it brought a smile to me! I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you though. I miss my home but frankly wouldn’t go back to live.
    All the best

Grazie! In one of my posts I think that if I had lived in Bologna it might have turned out differently….but maybe not. Looking to get back soon for travel though!

    Hi Hope!

I work for a website called Expat Arrivals that provides advice for expats and am currently in the process of updating our guide to moving to Italy. I came across your blog while doing research was wondering whether you might be interested in doing an interview with us about expat life in Italy?

Sorry for using this function as I could not find an email address to contact you on otherwise. Feel free to pop me an email (claire@expatarrivals.com) if you’d like to talk more. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Claire Pearce
